DNC Tarumitra was established as part of DNC ministries for Scholastics in 2014. A group of scholastics interested in promoting ecological consciousness were part of this ministry. They began with petite yet effective works in the house. In 2015, Br. Dominic of Gandhi Nagar diocese and his team ventured to create Pope Francis Herbal garden as part of DNC Tarumitra. In 2017, DNC Tarumitra branched out to various other ecological activities like Addressing students in the schools, forming eco clubs in the schools, promoting waste segregation in DNC, beginning vermicomposting, commencing waste water treatment, inventing nature awareness walks, fostering eco-spiritual activities, spreading eco mindfulness through regular updates on the Notice board, identifying and naming migratory birds in the campus and initiating dialogue to collaborate with neighbouring religious on ecological programmes. We humans are part of this creation, thus we are called to establish right relationship with oneself, with our neighbours and the rest of creation. The motto of SRISHTIMITRA is ‘Reconciliation with Creation’.

The New Logo: The Logo of SRISHTIMITRA (Friends of Creation) consists a globe in the center with various living and nonliving things representing the entire creation. It has some elements incorporated from DNC Logo and Jesuit South Asian Assistancy’s Ecology Logo. It bears the green outer circle depicting the boundless universe with stars and planets which are also part of God’s creation. The entire universe is held by the green hand of God. Two human images on either side depict the members of Sristimitra who are the friends of creation.The Motto ‘Reconciliation with Creation’ is engraved at the bottom.
